The mission of the Substance Abuse Department is to improve the social functioning and the health of individuals in the community that suffer from the debilitating effects of drugs and alcohol. The department provides substance abuse treatment services, case management, childcare, acupuncture, mental health services, and inpatient screening Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 5:00. The department is staffed with a multi-disciplinary team of mental health and substance abuse treatment professionals.
Treatment Services
Substance abuse services provided include:
- Outpatient Program: treatment groups serving men and women
- Day Care Program: an intensive program serving pregnant women and women up to 60 days postpartum
Each service provides a combination of relapse prevention groups, psycho-education groups and one on one counseling
Case Management
Case management services are available to help pregnant and parenting women with substance abuse problems. Clients are assigned a primary case manager who will assist them with obtaining the tools for developing a healthy lifestyle, to find housing, employment, complete educational goals, and to improve parenting skills.
Ancillary Services
To support a continuum of care that is responsive to the needs of patients receiving services the Substance Abuse Department also provides acupuncture, parenting classes, cooperative child care services, mental health services, risk reduction education for HIV/AIDS patients and those at risk of HIV.
