We welcome and encourage families and friends to visit hospitalized patients. For the safety of all our patients and visitors, children must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult at all times. Please check with the nursing team leader before bringing any special food or treats to patients, because some may be on a special diet which prohibits or limits certain foods.

Medical-Surgical Floors
Regular hospital visiting hours 11:00am - 8:00pm.
If additional hours are needed, special arrangements can be made with the Nursing Supervisor
Intensive Care Units
Visitation is allowed around the clock, but is based upon patient condition. A special waiting room is reserved for ICU Visitors off the Main Lobby, 4th Floor, Hospital Tower (Building H). Nursing staff will call visitors from the waiting room. Number of visitors and duration of visits will be limited. Visitors over the age of 16 are permitted in the ICU.
Transitional Care Unit
Visitation is allowed around the clock, but is based upon patient condition. Visitors wait in the Main Lobby, 4th Floor, Acute Tower, until they are called to the Unit. Number of visitors and duration of visits will be limited. Visitors over the age of 16 are permitted in the TCU, but special arrangements can be made for younger visitors.
Bright Beginnings Family Birthing Center
(Includes Nursery, Neonatal ICU, OB, and Labor and Delivery)
Regular hospital visiting hours 11:00am - 8:00pm.
If additional hours are needed, special arrangements can be made with the Nursing Supervisor.
When mother is in labor, her significant other can stay overnight, through arrangement with the Nursing Supervisor.
Highland Visitor Parking
Highland visitors may park in the public garage at 14th Ave. and E. 31st St. There is a fee for parking, and there are no in-and-out privileges. Garage levels P5 and P6 connect directly to the hospital.
If the garage is full, street parking is available; please pay close attention to signs which limit hours of parking.
Highland Cafeteria and Vending Machines
Highland Campus has a Cafeteria that is open to the public, serving hot nutritious breakfasts, lunches and dinners, as well as sandwiches and salad bar. The Cafeteria is located in the Hospital Acute Tower, 2nd Floor.

4:30pm - 6:00 pm - Hot Dinner
Visitors are welcome to use the Cafeteria during the hours indicated

Gift Shop
Highland has a hospital gift shop, located on the 4th Floor (Street Level), Hospital Building (Building H). The shop sells cards, snacks, and small gifts as well as personal grooming items and other conveniences for patients. Hours:

Saturday and Sunday 11:00am - 6:00pm

Skilled Nursing Facility and Neuro-Respiratory Service
Visiting hours are daily from 11:00am – 9:00pm. If additional hours are needed, special arrangements can be made with the Nursing Supervisor.
Rehabilitation Service
Regular visiting hours for the Acute Rehabilitation Center daily from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon and 2:00pm – 9:00pm. If additional visiting hours are needed, arrangements can be made with the Nursing Supervisor.
Visitor Parking
Free visitor parking is available all day at Fairmont Hospital. Disabled visitors with current DMV-issued signs may use designated handicapped-access parking spaces.

We welcome and encourage families and friends to visit patients hospitalized at John George Psychiatric Pavilion. However, some patients are in crisis and either may not be ready to or want to have visitors. It is best to call and talk with the unit charge nurse before you come to visit for the first time.
Visiting Hour is daily from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. On Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays visitors are also welcome 1:30pm - 3:00pm. Special arrangements for visiting outside of these hours can be made by contacting the social worker or the charge nurse. All visitors will be assigned badges when signing in at reception. Please remember to wear your visitor badge at all times and to return your badge when signing out at reception.
Visitor Parking
A limited number of visitor parking spaces are available at the entrance to John George Psychiatric Pavilion. If none of these is available you can continue to the parking area at the bottom of the hill. There is no charge for parking.
