Alameda County Medical Center is a health system of hospitals and clinics that work to maintain and improve the health of all Alameda County residents, regardless of ability to pay. ACMC is a public entity governed by trustees who are appointed by Alameda County supervisors. ACMC serves the public at six locations:

Emergency and Trauma
- Northern Alameda County’s Level II Trauma Center serving over 2,000 critically injured patients per year

Inpatient/Outpatient Care
- Alameda County’s principal provider of inpatient care for uninsured and medically needy residents
- Full range of services including Cardiac, Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Orthopedics, Dental, Urology, Diabetes, Respiratory, Substance Abuse Treatment and Maternal/Child Health
- Over 11,000 inpatient admissions/year; about 95% admitted via ER
- Medical interpretation in 27 languages through in-person staff and state of the art videoconferencing
